Since 1995, Outer Sound has been providing up-to-date news and reviews on the indie music scene. Over the years, we've become one the web's most respected and popular sites for indie-focused music news. And these numbers grow larger every week.
Outer Sound offers ad packages from simple and subtle to complex and commanding. With ad rates ranging from $50-$500 a month, Outer Sound can give your releases, brand, the kind of exposure they deserve. Whether you're a new label looking to establish a presence, or one of the majors seeking to remind people when highly anticipated albums are being released, Outer Sound can make it happen.

· STANDARD BANNER
Specs: 6.5" wide by 0.8" tall, or 468 pixels wide x 60 tall
There's no better way to reach the independent music community than with our Standard Banner. This banner guarantees high visibility to each of our thousands of readers. It is the first image our visitors see when they come to Outer Sound, and by far the most effective way to make an impression on thousands of music fans.
We offer two levels of exposure on the Standard Banner:
Standard package: $150/month; 20,000 ad impressions + 1 MP3*
Great exposure within your budget. The same price as a b/w quarter-page ad in a print magazine, except: 1) we guarantee that every single one of our readers will notice it; 2) it is the first thing our readers see when they visit Outer Sound, instead of being buried in the back pages of a zine; 3) as with any Outer Sound ad, the reader can click-through to reach your website and read more about your artists; 4) an animated gif is sexier than that b/w ad.
Power package: $350/month; 60,000 ad impressions + 2 MP3s*
Outer Sound's equivalent of the back page magazine ad.

Specs: 2.6" wide by 1.38" tall, or 188 pixels wide x 100 tall)
We offer two levels of exposure for the Indie button:
Junior Package: $50/month, 20,000 ad impressions
Senior Package: $100/month, 40,000 ad impressions
* MP3s: Outer Sound launched Listen, which works similarly to CMJ and Magnet's monthly CD samplers (except with MP3 files). This is a free download section for readers interested in hearing new music. If you purchase our Standard or Package, we'll give your label a free MP3 as incentive. If you purchase our Premium Package, we'll give your label two MP3s. And, if you purchase the Power Package, we'll give you two. MP3s are also available to be purchased separately from advertising.
· INSIDE OUTER SOUND (email newsletter)
Outer Sound's monthly Inside OS email goes out to over 3,000 registered users. The email sponsorship area includes a sizeable text box and link to your site or our promotion page. Only a limited number of sponsors are allowed in each weekly email so your message will not be clouded.

TECHNICAL:
Ads may come in ANY file format: GIF, JPEG, TIFF, PSD, EPS, BMP, etc. However, we do not accept Shockwave Flash. Images may be full-color or black-and-white. Animation is acceptable. File size should be kept under 25k, if possible. All ads should be sent as an attachment to bsegal@outersound.com.
All ads placed with Outer Sound are on a "randomly generated" basis. This means that each time a reader loads a page a different ad will load and then go into our rotation pattern.
And if you can't design an ad to run on Outer Sound, our in-house design team will design one for you at no extra charge.
