Surviving the Quiet, the first full-length release, by UK band Seafood, is more about loudness than quiet. The record provides us with 10 well-written songs that fall not too far from their American indie rock idols Sebadoh, Sonic Youth, and Pavement.
The record is 100% pure guitar rock with added texture from some flute, cello, slide guitar and pedal steel.
Surviving the Quiet runs from mellow tunes with nice vocal harmonies reminiscent of Versus to the fast loud frenetic sounds of Day Dream Nation-era Sonic Youth.
