Superstars and Major Acts

  • Distribution: National and International Sales and Distribution through the Major Label System into chain stores, racks, and miscellaneous mass marketers, as well as on various Internet and On-Line Services.
  • Broadcast: National and International Broadcast exposure through Major market commercial radio stations, and Video exposure through MTV, VH1, The Box, etc.
  • Print: National and International Print exposure through industry trades, consumer magazines, newspapers and Internet Web Sites.
  • PR: Well established Publicists and Public Relations firms hired.
  • Touring: National and International Tours booked through Major Booking Agencies and Promoters. Concerts at large venues.

The Independent Artist

  • Distribution: National sales through Independent Labels and the Independent distributing network with International sales handled selectively through foreign distributors and/or licensing deals and alliances with select Major and Indie Labels, as well as miscellaneous artist controlled sales techniques such as mail order, and and a Web Site on the Internet.
  • Radio: National Radio exposure through genre specific music formats on commercial and non-commercial stations with some International Radio exposure on a country by country basis.

Getting Started

  • Sales: Local and Regional sales of self produced product, through mail order, live shows, and consignment to stores, as well as limited distribution from Independent Label deals, and selling product through an Internet Web Site.
  • Radio: Local and Regional airplay at college and non-commercial Radio stations, with limited exposure on genre specific commercial stations.
  • Video: Very limited video exposure though cable access stations, a few programs on local television stations, and at select clubs.
  • Print: Limited Local and Regional Print exposure in select newspapers, as well as genre specific magazines and fanzines, with emphasis on getting mentioned in club listings of daily, weekly, and monthly publications.
  • Internet: Independently established Internet Web Site or Music Web Site Provider.
  • Live shows: Local and some Regional live shows at clubs, coffeehouses, fairs, and festivals. Showcasing at industry conferences and conventions.
  • Touring: Tours booked independently, or through genre specific Booking Agencies and Promoters.
